DOWNTOWN SHELBYVILLE SCULPTURE WALK
Now that all seven sculptures of our Sculpture Walk are in place, we would like to invite you to visit downtown Shelbyville and see them!
Stargazer Lily
625 Main Street
Sculptor: Ben Bridwell, Millennium Steel Werks
A giant stainless steel flower; petals, stem and leaves all fabricated from stainless steel.
Exclusive only to Shelby County; see two other designs by Ben on Washington Street.
Reaching For Our Potential
Stargazer Plaza
618 Main Street
Sculptor: Dave Caudill, Caudill Art
This sculpture features a 30inch mirror finish stainless steel ball surrounded by painted shapes evoking laurel wreaths of mythic nobility atop a textured stainless column. It provides fascination through its reflections of viewers as well as those of the artwork’s colors. The subtle metaphors reinforce the marriage of community and individual potentials.
Butterfly Bench
422 Main Street
Sculptors: Laura & Scot Kellersberger, Phoenix Creative Metal
This sculpture is of steel construction with a sandblasted, powder coat primer. It is purple with blue accents.
Wings of the Phoenix
4th Street Median
Sculptor: Jenny Hager, Havic Studios LLC
This sculpture represents the story of rebirth. The great bird rises from the ashes. The wings are waterjet cut and gracefully adorn the top of an upward-sweeping abstract form. Aluminum is the material.
Reticulated Iris
419 Washington Street
Sculptor: Ben Bridwell, Millennium Steel Werks
Lisa Marie Fowler, Bead Artist
The entire sculpture is made from stainless steel designed to look like a reticulated iris. Pearlescent, handmade glass butterflies dance above the flower in the breeze.
Wind Horse
315 Washington Street
Sculptor: Dustin Miller, Abstract Metal Design Gallery
Wind Horse emphasizes the Saddlebred horse and its iconic beauty in an abstract way. It is sculpted from aircraft grade aluminum and professionally powder coated.
Picture Frame
429 Main Street
Sculptor: Ben Bridwell, Millennium Metal Werks
Highly detailed stainless steel flowers; vines, and leaves grow across a canvas. The large flower has the center missing. Visitors are encouraged to stand behind the piece, put their face in the
open flower and become part of the art work.
